Taylor Woodrow win South Terminal Pier 2 contract
02.11.09
Taylor Woodrow has been awarded a £31.3m contract to redevelop Pier Two of Gatwick's South Terminal. The work will increase the number of stands on the south side of the pier from 9 to 13, which will prepare the airport for the future demolition and redevelopment of Pier One. The contract also includes improvements to the gate lounges to provide a better environment for passengers.
Gatwick’s development director, David Brewer, said: ‘This work is a significant part of the billion pound capital investment programme being implemented at the airport. In addition to enhancing the facilities and environment for our passengers, and improved service for our airlines, the changes will enable us to make a more efficient use of the airfield, taxiways and airport infrastructure.’
