NATS profits fall
06.07.10
Air traffic control company NATS has said that the ash cloud crisis has cost it around £5m in lost revenue. It saw a 21% reduction in flights during April compared to last year because of the volcanic ash disruption.
Pre-tax profits fell to £78.3m in the year to the end of March 2010 - before the ash cloud struck - compared to £135.5m during the previous year. Flights handled in 2009-10 fell from 2.37m to 2.17m, due to the effects of the recession.
