Gatwick is seeking a supplier to install IATA self service check-in kiosks to be used by a number of different airlines. The scope of the services under contract have not been finalised, but may include the supply, installation, configuration, operation, ongoing support and management of kiosks at the airport.
The kiosks allow passengers to check- in with limited assistance, rather than using a conventional check-in desk. The passengers then drop any bags at a fast bag drop station or head straight for security if they have no bags. In addition to cutting costs, they also typically save passengers time.
