Kiss flights collapse hits 73,000 holidaymakers

Kiss Flights has collapsed, hitting the travel plans of over 70,000 holidaymakers. Gatwick-based flight only operator Kiss flew to Spain, the Canary Islands, Cyprus, Greece and Turkey from Gatwick, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Bristol and a number of other UK airports. The ‘vast majority’ of people who had booked future trips with the company will receive refunds, the Civil Aviation Authority said.
London-based Flight Options, which has owned Kiss since January last year, ceased trading at 17:00 yesterday. Last month Goldtrail, which specialised in holidays to Greece and Turkey, collapsed, affecting 50,000 travellers, and this is reported to be a key factor in the demise of Kiss, which suddenly had thousands of seats effectively unsold.
The CAA said the approximately 13,000 holidaymakers abroad who flew with Kiss would be flown home as normal, and anyone due to travel from the UK before 18:00 today is guaranteed their flight out and return after their holiday. However, the approximately 60,000 people have forward bookings with the company may receive a refund, but they will not get their holiday.
