Snow closes Gatwick

Gatwick and Luton airports were closed by heavy snowfall for several hours overnight and this morning, as forecasters warned of a repeat of the bad weather in the southeast over the next week.
In the busy run-up to Christmas, the runways at Gatwick and Luton were closed overnight after they were covered in a blanket of snow. But flights were operating again by mid-morning at both airports. Heathrow remained open.
