Monorail to open ahead of schedule
20.02.10
Gatwick's monorail, which transfers passengers between its north and south terminals, is to reopen ahead of schedule after a major refurbishment. Its new carriages have already been lifted onto the rail line, which has already been renewed. The whole project is expected to be completed one month ahead of schedule, in July.
The monorail has been closed since last September to allow the carriages, tracks and stations to all be replaced, repaired or revamped. Testing of the new service will be taking place over the next few months ahead of the opening in time for the busy summer peak.
