Gatwick expects busy weekend

Gatwick Airport expects a busy Bank Holiday weekend. It will handle 500,000 passengers in the period from tomorrow to the end of Bank Holiday Monday. The busiest day will be Friday, when around 125,000 people will pass through the hub, with the top five destinations Dalaman in Turkey, Malaga in Spain, Faro in Portugal, Palma in Majorca and Alicante in Spain.
Also busy is Heathrow, which expects to handle 840,000 passengers over the four-day period from Friday to Monday, with the busiest day being Friday when 217,900 people will be passing through the airport. Manchester Airport expects 285,000 passengers and Stansted 271,000.
