Flybe mark Leeds Bradford flight anniversary

Flybe celebrated the first anniversary of its flights between Gatwick and Leeds Bradford Airport yesterday. The UK regional budget airline said the route has proved to be a 'key link' between Yorkshire and the south-east and has been a 'roaring success'. Over 60,000 passengers the service in its first year, with the route operated by a Bombardier Q400 aircraft.
Mike Rutter, Flybe's chief commercial officer, said: 'Air services from Gatwick to Leeds Bradford are of great strategic importance to Yorkshire and the north of England, so we're delighted to be celebrating the first anniversary of our service connecting the two airports. We know from passenger feedback how important this link is for business and leisure passengers in Yorkshire and this has been reflected in its performance over its first year.'
