31.10.09
British engine maker Rolls Royce announced yesterday that it had won a $720m (£435m) deal - at list prices - to supply Trent 700 engines for 10 new Virgin Atlantic aircraft.
Deliveries will commence in 2011, with Rolls Royce powering six new Airbus A330s ordered directly by Virgin Atlantic, which has a total of 38 aircraft in its fleet. The remaining engines will be fitted to four new aircraft Virgin is leasing from AerCap.
