Glyndebourne Opera
One of the world's best-known opera houses, set in magnificent gardens in the countryside between London and Brighton.
It is possible to catch a train from Gatwick airport to Lewes station (there are bus connections from Lewes station to Glyndebourne), or you could hire a car. The journey time by car is approximately 30 minutes.

Cost: ticket prices depend on the performance, but tend to be on the expensive side. For the 2007 festival tickets are from £85, £130 and £155
